 January 09 to January 11, 2026 / FRI + SAT 8 pm / SUN 6 pm Micha Purucker habermas disco (world premiere) schwere reiter The choreographic jam session plays with an incredible local coincidence from Munich in the late 1970s: Habermas is advancing critical social theory in Starnberg and researching his influential theory of communicative action, while Giorgio Moroder is working with Donna Summer on “I Feel Love” and the Sound of Munich at Musicland Studios in Arabellapark. The current disillusionment regarding many issues and problems meets songs from a time that was marked by a belief in social change and the possibility of fair and just coexistence. Disco as an egalitarian place of burgeoning hedonism. Today, we sit disillusioned in the ruins of that era of change. The euphoria has faded, but the questions and the rhythm remain.
