 May 16, 2025 / Opening Kreativlabor OPEN, at 5 pm Katrin Schafitel MÄRML Kreativlabor MÄRML shimmers in all possible shades of red, from pale pink to bright red and deep purple. Through the openings of its expansive fabric texture, it encourages you to explore its interior... Composed of used coats sewn together, it is ready for new adventures. MÄRML is the name Katrin Schafitel has given to the object-costume of textile artist Robert Kis, with which and through which she moves in public space and explores its peculiarities. The performer creates unexpected and very fleeting fabric-human combinations through dance - quasi second sculptures - which form a different shape from every perspective. An invitation to passers-by to be surprised and captivated by this multifaceted living being... KATRIN SCHAFITEL has lived and worked as a dancer and performer in Munich for over 20 years. She is particularly interested in interfaces and meeting spaces between performing arts, music and visual arts, free spaces inside and outside, museum, theater and public space. With the object dances ZWINK (1 + 2) and MÄRML, Katrin Schafitel invents special artistic figures for public spaces, supported by fantastic object costumes created especially for her by costume designer Robert Kis. To the great delight of passers-by, all the creatures have so far made numerous appearances in a wide variety of places, and they can still be booked for apparitions of all kinds...
