This sensual durational performance unfolds as an ambivalent interplay of closeness and distance, objectification and freedom, where time seems to stand still. Somewhere between an installation, a slowed-down ritual, and a body archive, This resting, patience explores desire, intimacy, attraction, as well as loneliness and alienation. Audience members are invited to stay for as long as they wish. Berlin-based dancer and choreographer Ewa Dziarnowska counters conventional theatrical notions of meaning and dramaturgical linearity. Interested in improvisation and embodied knowledge, she explores the poetic and sensory dimensions of dance, making it tangible in the tension between pleasure and pain, beyond spectacle and alienation.
