Open Studios
For the 13th time, Tanztendenz invites young choreographers to use the rehearsal rooms in the Lindwurmhof free of charge.
During the Open Studios, choreographers who are at the beginning of their professional careers have the opportunity to try out and exchange ideas without the pressure of production.
"In 2020, I took part in the Open Studios under the mentorship of Stephan Herwig. This residency was the first point of contact in a collaboration with Tanztendenz that continues to this day and plays a key role in my work and growth as a dancer and choreographer." Fabian Riess
Tanztendenz repeatedly opens a window to other parts of the world where artists work under sometimes very difficult conditions.
In 2025, for example, there is a cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, which invites the Egyptian choreographer Abdelrahman Boudii to the Open Studios. He completed his dance training at the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center (CCDC) in 2019 and now teaches there. He will be working here on a solo that delves deep into human emotions such as grief, hurt and the feeling of being forgotten.
