Residencies

Tanztendenz München e.V. is continuously expanding its residency programme and invites external choreographers to continue work on their productions in the Tanztendenz studios. The public showing at the end of the residency period allows the audiences an insight into their current rehearsal process.

FOR EXCHANGE+ - moving on
The network of southern German dance initiatives and artists' associations, which started out as a cooperation in 2022 between Tanztendenz München and Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg and which has been growing steadily ever since, is entering its fourth year.
Meanwhile we comprise six alliance partners in two federal states - Tanztendenz e.V., Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg e.V. and CONdance e.V. Bamberg in Bavaria, and EinTanzHaus e.V. and Schwindelfrei Festival in Mannheim, Tanznetz Freiburg gUG and Produktionzentrum für Tanz + Performance e.V. Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. The focus is on exchange and networking between the cooperating institutions, but above all on the artists working there. A total of six 7- to 10-day residencies will be realised in the six partner cities, enriching the local scenes with workshops, training sessions and public showings, sharings or lecture demonstrations for the dance community and all those interested in contemporary dance or performance. In addition, there will be a series of conferences and symposia, at which relevant topics from the (southern German) independent dance scene will be discussed and know-how can be shared and passed on within peer groups. The culmination of the project will take the form of a networking event, to be organised in one of the partner cities on 22 and 23 November 2025, where, in addition to the day's programme with talks, discussion rounds and further training opportunities, there will also be plenty of room for personal meetings and exchanges. Stay tuned!

This project is made possible by the Bavarian State Association for Contemporary Dance (BLZT) with funding from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts.
