Ceren Oran & Moving Borders: SCHÖN ANDERS
Group behaviour shapes us. Humans are herd animals; they protect and organise themselves into school groups, leisure clubs, communities of states and unions. But what happens when an individual leaves the group? Or to put it another way: what if the individual recognises their true self and wishes to live in accordance with it? Are they left defenceless against the rest of the group if they step away from it – even if they are quite different?
Choreographer Ceren Oran explores these questions through dance and music, working with a multicultural team. Five performers and a musician bring their own experiences of otherness and belonging to the creative process. In a playful, humorous and moving way, they embark on a journey of discovery into different emotional worlds.
The play is aimed at families with children aged 6 and over.
