Diego Tortelli & Miria Wurm: Psycho
Psycho examines something seemingly fleeting and fundamental: the breath. A mostly inconspicuous moment that occurs automatically around 25,000 times a day, thereby constantly inscribing itself into our bodies. Yet, as the title suggests, Psycho also explores the opposite: that which takes our breath away, blocks our own rhythm and causes our sense of self to become distorted.
Psycho is a close-up of physical and inner details through the medium of a dancer’s body; a dance-based, visual pars pro toto and, at the same time, its antonym totum pro parte, which transforms before the audience’s eyes through various physical memories and their patterns.
