Ming Poon & Sarah Bergh: In Fremder Erde Sterben – Eine Performative Recherche
Where is the experience of uprooting felt in the body? How do wounded bodies find their way back to their strength?
The starting point for this research is the question of how colonial violence, forced displacement and traumatised memory become inscribed in the body – and how dance can open up spaces for grief, resistance and visions of survival. At the centre are three BIPOC dancers who are developing short choreographies on dying and transition. Here, ‘dying’ is not understood exclusively in biological terms, but as the loss of language, origin, belonging, visibility and also spirituality. At the same time,*In Fremder Erde Sterben* reveals forms of continued existence and rebirth.
The evening combines interviews and dance to create a performative, cinematic collage exploring powerful transformation and resilience shaped by colonialism.
On the morning of 30 October 26, between 10.00 and 13.30, a (free) workshop with Ming Poon (mingapur.com) will take place at LUISE for dancers, performers and anyone interested in bodywork. Further information and registration (limited places) at: sensing.sites@gmail.com
